getting smacked around by January

Question:  are you getting smacked around by January?

I ask because everysingleperson I've talked with in recent weeks is up to their ears in to-do lists, resolutions, work, chores, etc. AND their daily schedules are bananas.  (Or maybe it's just me.)

So, if the answer to that question is "yes"...that's okay.  I'll say it myself:  I've been getting a bit smacked around by January.  Or, perhaps better, I'm a strong tree getting blown this way and that by my schedule and all the things I've put on my own lists.  I'm not sure.  I even skipped my exercise class this morning!

In my past life, at this point I would've taken myself to my room in order to thoroughly beat myself up in my mind.  I would've signed myself up for TWO exercise classes tomorrow to make up for today's failure.  And I probably would've deprived myself of all chocolate for at least a few hours.

Here's how I handle the smackdown now - and for a quick summary, scroll down to this week's Farsighted Shift

1.  There's no such thing as failure.  Really.  What can be learned here?  Life is a classroom.

2.  We're just soft animals, and we dislike anger, meanness, and shouting.  We respond really, really well to treats.  So, have a treat!

3.  We don't get truly motivated by fear.  It's actually joy that energizes us and powers us through all that we need to accomplish, and it does so beautifully.  Bring on the JOY!  Seriously!

To support the bringing-on of your joy, here are some items for your consideration:   my new tele-class, The Joy Infusion, starts in just a few weeks and Abbey and I decided to offer a bring-a-friend special.  Woohoo!  Also, I've got a brand-new episode of Farsighted TV in which I explain the essential (and somewhat counter-cultural) role of joy.  I'd love to know what you think!
